The corporate climate movement grows exponentially as new companies announce plans to set 1.5°C-aligned science-based targets today in Madrid at #COP25; during an event organised by United Nations Global Compact with UN Environment Programme, Science Based Targets initiative and other partners.
Companies from 36 countries have pledged to set ambitious targets to help limit the worst effects of #ClimateChange — more than doubling in size since the 1st group of early movers were announced at the UN Summit in New York. Smart Phases Novacab inc. is amongst these first-movers. Stéphane Bilodeau, Chairman said: “With our innovative Hybrid Energy Storage solutions, we are demonstrating our commitment to our partners, suppliers and clients." Dr Bilodeau added: "The business benefits of #ClimateAction are clear. Companies that align their strategies with #climate science AND quickly integrates low-carbon solutions are best-placed to thrive as the global economy transitions to a required net-zero future.“
António Guterres, Secretary-General of the Nations Unies said: "As we saw at the Climate Action Summit in September, the determination demonstrated by business and financial leaders offers a potential path for hope. As businesses back away from fossil fuels it helps send market signals to massively scale up innovative solutions. While we thank those leaders, we urgently need more to join and shift the pace to higher gears."
"These 177 companies are pioneers that understand we are in a crisis that requires ambitious #ClimateAction. All stakeholders must cooperate to limit temperature rise to 1.5°C and reach net-zero by 2050." — High-Level Climate Champion Gonzalo Muñoz Abogabir
